About

The Mississippi River Delta Transition Initiative (MissDelta), in coordination with Louisiana State and Tulane Universities, is pleased to host Deltas 2024. For the first time since 1998, coastal scientists, engineers, and designers will convene in Louisiana along with deltaic scientists from around for a focused research symposium on coastal river deltas.

Transportation

An LSU Tiger Trails shuttle will be provided for transporting Symposium attendees to/from The Cook Hotel and LSU Center for River Studies.
Shuttle service will begin at 6:45 am and continue until 9:30 pm. The shuttle holds 40 seated passengers, and there is room to stand.

Parking at LSU Center for River Studies

Parking is limited at LSU Center for River Studies. Parking is available along Arches St.
Do not park in the CPRA parking lot or any space labeled for CPRA. Violators will be towed. Overflow parking is available on Water St. and River Rd.

Poster Session Information

• Virtual participation is not available for the poster session.

• Posters should be limited to 3 x 4 feet.

• Participants are assigned a spot on the wall (by number) to hang their poster. Please see the attached list for your number.

• Command strips will be provided to attach posters to the wall. Do not use any other material to hang posters (3M tape, Scotch tape, etc.), as it will damage the wall.

• Participants may begin bringing their posters to the LSU Center for River Studies as early as Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

• All posters must be removed by 9:30 pm, August 16, 2024. Remaining posters will be picked up, and owners will need to retrieve them the following week at Howe-Russell.

Field Trip Information

A field trip is being offered to the Sidney A. Murray Jr. Hydroelectric Station and Old River on Saturday, August 17, 2024 (by advanced registration). A chartered bus will transport participants, and lunch will be provided. The bus will depart The Cook Hotel at 0730 CST and return at about 1400 CST.
